Silaban began his legal career as a specialist litigator, representing numerous clients in handling various dispute resolution matters, including arbitration proceedings, criminal and civil cases at different levels of courts in Indonesia, employment disputes in the Industrial Relations Court, as well as bankruptcy and suspension of debt payment obligations (PKPU). In addition, Silaban has extensive experience in infrastructure projects, including turnkey and construction contracts, profit-sharing agreements, contracts for the transfer of oil mining management rights, and service agreements.

Silaban represents clients both domestically and internationally, assisting government agencies and regulators in major infrastructure projects in the toll road, electricity, railway, power, and water plant sectors, as well as large corporations in the mining, oil, and gas industries. Furthermore, he provides legal counsel on corporate and commercial matters, mergers and acquisitions, and due diligence transactions.

Silaban is a registered advocate member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) and a Legal Auditor member of the Indonesian Association of Legal Auditors (ASAHI). He is also a certified Receiver and Administrator registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and a member of the Indonesian Receivers and Administrators Association (AKPI).
